WAGYU CUTS / Yakiniku
Yakiniku, which translates to “grilled meat”, is a popular national dish in Japan. Bite-sized slices of meat are grilled at the table, so you’re preparing your meal as you eat it, and dinner conversations are accompanied by sounds of sizzling meat and a smoky aroma.
With Wagyu beef, this aroma has its own term — ‘wagyuko’ — because it is especially delicious. The melt-in-your-mouth tenderness and umami flavours of Wagyu beef also elevates your indoor barbeque into a luxurious eating experience.
For Yakiniku, you’ll need slightly thicker slices compared to thinly sliced beef used in hot pot. Some of our Wagyu beef platters have ready-to-grill yakiniku servings, or you can buy your preferred beef cut and prepare your own slices.
